The first thing to consider is SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Before you start writing the texts at your website, you should determine the keywords that you want to be found with when potential customers query search engines. All the texts in your website should b.composed from these keywords, phrase them into sentences. Put the keywords in header (h1, h2, h

3) tags and in paragraphs.

Couple of ways of getting website traffic:

1. Google AdWords - start a campaign to publicize your product.

2. Forums - Search and find forums that have a targeted market for your product. When you find them, search for posts that are related to your product and then replay to these posts. Try not to be "commercial" about your product, just offer help to the forum members.

3. Article Writing - Write articles and include some backlinks to your new website. Send these articles to article directories.

4. Post your website at websites directories - there are some online services that will send your website to 100+ directories for only 20$.

From my personal experience, I can tell that a good standalone website with a good product can make you between 500$ to 5,000$ a month, don`t set your expectations too high when you start. Have patience and you will see how you are making these sums in a couple of months, without affiliates.

When you are reaching these sums of money, you should turn to successful affiliates by yourself and show them a Paypal proof. They will be eager to sell your product.
