Well, finally its official, Overture has launched within Australia and now supplying paid results to Yahoo, AltaVista and HP Australia. This moment has been awaited for some time (Pay Per Click). With Looksmart out and Overture in, it will be
interesting to see over the next year or so whether Sensis ramps up Looksmart to govern som.competition down under for the PPC market domination. Overture is a well awaited relief with its flexible, easy to use PPC campaign and associated tools. It will only be a matter of time before all other previous Looksmart partners wil.come onboard with Overture to boost marketing potential.
With Looksmart currently in ruins with no place to go, Overture will have no lag in picking up and dominating the paid listings quickly. For all those advertisers trying to get in first, ensure you watch your campaign carefully as others will go over you several times daily for mildl.competitive phrases. No doubt paid rankings will fluctuate for a little while, though will settle once the rush is over.
Overture Australia is mildly more expensive at a minimum bid of 0.10 cents per click, double that off its US price, but still affordable. Somehow I don't think the exchange rate is double, but the choice is limited, either pay it or don't. Overture with its now settled prices fo.competitive keyword phrases have offered them in at a $1.00 starting to avoid the mass fluctuation. Lets just hope that Overture have many things on the horizon for us aussies in the future. I'm sure they do and I personally expect to see only goo.come from the venture.
