Many also have offline activities, such as met ups in pubs, and organised events, which is a great way to go out without any pressure to meet anyone. It can also help you to put a face to a name if you have been chatting online for a while to someone!
If you do decide to meet someone on a one-to-one basis, then of course you should employ all th.common sense safety precautions you’d do normally such as meeting in a busy place and telling people where you are going etc. Sadly, meeting people online does not mean you’ll never meet an unscrupulous person again.
The positive new is that online dating and friendship sites have spawned a great many marriages, babies and strong friendships, so if there is a space in your life, going online could be the answer.
