Normally the types of jobs on offer are a good indication of the standard of agency. Most will get you to sit various tests upon your application, relevant to the kinds of jobs they are recruiting for. Some agencies need to be chased to find you work, while others are proactive and will contact you on a regular basis to check your availability.
