All too often businesses find themselves needing to correspond with all of their customers all at once. Technology today has made it easy to quickly accomplish mailing label printing. As easy as it can be to print labels, businesses often forget several simple rules to follow
when designing the labels.
1. Double check – with the database full of customer names it is easy to just click the print button and walk away. But take a few extra seconds to double check that the customer name and address are correct. It is very embarrassing to send your mailer to the right address but have the wrong name on the label.
2. Use quality labels – you give your customers a very bad impression when you send them correspondence on a cheap label. The few cents that you save using cheap labels is not worth the poor impression.
3. Include your logo – this may be difficult with a small label, but any chance you get you should expose your customer to your corporate identity. Your logo is a vital part of your brand, and you should display it whenever possible.
4. Consider color – since a label is typically only black and white text, businesses often overlook using a colored label. You can either use a solid colored label or simply consider putting a color logo on the label.
5. Full name – use your customer’s full name whenever possible. You may not have all of their information in your database, but if you have a first and last name you should use both on the label.
6. Bring in the pros – don’t hesitate to call a professional designer. The label will be the first thing your customers see and it may be worth the expense to have some professional input.
